NYSAHA Extends Scholarship Application Deadline

NYSAHA Bob Allen Scholarship Program

Updated 3/29/20

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are extending the deadline for applications this year. With schools closed we understand students are having a difficult time getting transcripts and letters of recommendation. Please continue working on your application and send in what you have completed. Once schools reopen we will establish the new deadline. Good luck and be well.

Scholarship Deadline Extended

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 School & Business closures, obtaining school transcripts and references has become increasingly difficult. Therefore, the April 1st deadline for scholarship application submissions has been extended. When the restrictions are eased, a new deadline will be published.

2019-2020 Season Ending Friday March 13th

As many of you know, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are school closings and sporting event closings happening all across Suffolk, Long Island, New York and the whole country.

With so many schools cancelling their sports programs and their hockey teams adhering to that decision, the SCHSHL has decided to end our 2019-2020 season after Friday March 13th.

This will complete the JV regular season (no playoffs) and leave the freshman season 39 games short and again, no playoffs.

More information to follow as it becomes available or necessary.

Eileen Lowis, Long Time Secretary Passes

It is with heavy and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen Lowis. Eileen was the SCHSHL’s secretary almost since the League’s inception, past secretary for the NYSAHA East Section and friend to all. After a year long battle, may she Rest In Peace. She will be missed.

Arrangements to follow.

2019-2020 Draft

The 2019-2020 Draft is scheduled for Thursday September 5th. (Players need not be present)

If you or your hockey friends were cut from your school team or if your school has no team, you can still play High School Hockey this year.
Go to the DRAFT page under the LINKS tab on the Web-Site and register now.

There is currently a need for Freshman Level Goalies!

Pat/Med Hockey Program

The Patchogue/Medford Hockey Program is starting up again. They are looking to put a Freshman and a JV team into the league for the 2019-2020 season.
