After Smithtown/Hauppauge lost game 1 of the best of three series to Ward Melville 5-2, the Bulls bounced back with a 5-0 win over the Patriots in game 2 Friday and an 8-4 victory in game 3 on Saturday. It was the 2nd championship in a row for Smithtown/Hauppauge and their 3rd in the past 4 years.
Game 2 saw goals from Bernardo(2), Vachula, Boehm and Mott with assists from Bernardo and Mott(2).
In Game 3, Bernardo had a hat trick & an assist and Mott had a goal and 3 assists. Additional scoring came from Young, Reumann and Boehm(2) assisted by Buzard, Young, Reumann(2), Sutter(2), Foray and Boehm.
Smithtown/Hauppauge Captain Aiden Boehm was named playoff MVP.
The Bulls and the Patriots could meet up again in the NYSAHA State Tournament in Saugerties on February 24-26.
